About the Business

Better Car Lighting is part of The 4Sight Lighting Co., owned and operated by Gil Keane. I have been designing and supplying car lighting upgrades since 1978 — first under the name Quicksilver Automotive and, since 2012, as Better Car Lighting. Every kit and component is selected, built, and tested with care to improve the safety and enjoyment of classic and vintage vehicles.

Ordering and Payment

Orders may be placed through the Better Car Lighting website, by telephone, or by email. Payment must be cleared in full before goods are dispatched. Prices include VAT where applicable. Quotations and information sheets supplied by email or PDF are valid for a reasonable period unless otherwise stated but occasionally an out of date copy may be sent by accident. Only current prices will apply.

Delivery

Orders are sent by the most suitable delivery service for the value, size, and urgency of the goods. Where possible, tracking details will be provided. Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on stock, carrier performance, and international customs delays.

Returns and Refunds

I want every customer to be happy with their purchase. If you experience a problem, please contact me first

— in most cases I can resolve it quickly with advice or a replacement part.

• Returns are accepted for items that are faulty, damaged in transit, or incorrectly supplied.
• Custom-built or made-to-order kits are not eligible for refund unless faulty or not as described.
• Returned items must be complete, undamaged, and in their original packaging.
• Incomplete or damaged returns cannot be refunded.
• Refunds for correctly supplied goods are at the discretion of Better Car Lighting and may be subject to a handling, processing, or restocking charge to cover testing and repackaging.
• Return postage costs for non-faulty items are the responsibility of the customer.

These terms do not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Guarantee

Guarantee periods are clearly stated on invoices and apply from the date of purchase. Guarantees cover faults in materials or workmanship under normal use. They do not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, modification, or misuse. If a problem arises within the guarantee period, please contact me for advice before returning any item.

Liability

All products are designed and tested for their intended purpose. However, as vehicles and their electrical systems vary widely, it remains the responsibility of the buyer or installer to ensure compatibility before fitting. Better Car Lighting cannot accept liability for any loss, damage, or consequential costs arising from the use or installation of supplied parts, other than those required by UK consumer law.

Privacy and Data Protection

Your personal information is treated as strictly confidential. I only collect and store the details necessary to process your order and communicate with you about your purchase. No financial information is stored once payment has been processed, and your details are never shared with any third party except for delivery purposes.
