Every now and then there is a communications breakdown and this can cause a misunderstanding and products are made which turn out to be very different from what was envisaged. This happened recently ( early 2024) when I was asking for another batch of the extremely powerful 233 (9mm bayonet) Daytime Running Light bulbs to be made in period ivory white, as the previous ones had been a more modern white. Because the minimum order quantities for unique "specials" like this are quite high, and a few years had passed since the previous order. I have been dealing with this factory for decades and they are extremely good and helpful. They asked me if, apart from the colour change, there was anything else I would like to change. We tossed ideas around, and I said that, as the whole point of Daytime Running Lights was to make cars as visible as possible, was there anything they could do to increase the already very levels of brightness. They said that as the existing levels were so high they would need to study the proposal. What came next was that they found a way, I misunderstood what else was different and I ended up with bulbs around 18mm longer than the previous version. Sadly, this makes them unsuitable for many of the usual applications where they just replace an existing front sidelight or pilot light bulbs. As they are nice people, we arrived at a compromise. They agreed to refund half of my money and this allows me to offer these bulbs to you for half price. They will work on either pos or neg systems, and if you have room for them, they are sensational.
